Microsoft have just announced that they will be launching the new Xbox Music service, which they claim to be “the first all-in-one music service”, which I’m not so sure of that part myself.

The new service will take over from the Microsoft Zune service and will offer more than 30 million songs as well as cloud storage features.

The new service will launch on the Xbox 360 from today and Windows 8 PCs later this month, whilst mobile phones and tablets will also launch around the same time.

The service will also be free to stream on Windows 8 which will be limited after the first 6 months, during which you can pay $9.99 a month and get an ad-free service with unlimited streaming on the phone, tablet, PC or Xbox 360.

There’s also a Smart DJ feature which will allow the service to create their own radio stations within playlists, alongside which there will also be a scan and match feature that will match your own songs with the 30 million tracks offered globally through the cloud service.

Check out the press release below for more information.
